Colfax County Roads mission is to maintain and improve the county road and bridge infrastructure.
The county road department has 12 full-time employees overseen by Road Superintendent- Robert Thompson. Colfax County maintains 570.3 miles of roads of which 6.7 miles are paved. The remaining 563.6 miles of county roads are gravel or dirt are maintained using a variety of heavy equipment which include six motor graders, two loaders and two backhoes.Save

About Robert Thompson
Robert moved to Raton in 1975 with his family. Robert was hired with Colfax County Road Department in May 2005 as a transport driver/operator.
In 2015, Robert was promoted to Road Foreman. Throughout his employment with Colfax County Road Department Robert has attended equipment and road maintenance training's. In 2017, he was promoted to Colfax County Road Superintendent.
